Great vids and photos are coming from this year's destruction derby, aka the Outback Challenge. Check out this thread for more. When these UAVs crash, there's nothing left! (pics from RolandS888)
And here's a video of Team Melbourne's crash aftermath. Just a burned shadow of a Telemaster!

As Dean has mentioned elsewhere lots of foam flying wings next year I think ;-) Don't forget most of this carnage was caused by the flight termination criteria set by CASA, or rather its method.
Main Control : Range Control we have lost the Bird
Range Control : roger Main Control ,Range Control will terminate the Bird (flips cover over big Red button , turns key and presses button , Kaboom , bright Flash in the sky)
Range Control : Main Control the Bird has been terminated
Main Control : roger that Range Control we have debris on radar at 5 miles down range, altitude 344 feet AGL
Main Control : well done all we will have to try that one again soon Over

Forgive me stupid question folks, but isn't it possible such planes with this amount of work and hardware on them to have failsafe parachute (acting under some altitude or else) which save at least electronics and at most the entire plane?
