What an excellent idea, I assume something like this will do, but not this one! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UtUzaBpaSY0&feature=youtube_gdat...

yes, that is almost the concept!  we need  to see more the guts of the beast (not the giraffe, the quad!) with also a nice mix of on board and external views (we want to see how stable and position hold you get)... so a nice mix of all this and "internal" setup with PID used or code mods used and you are in! :)

Is the price USD, Canadian Dollars, Pounds or Rands?

Hello Andre,

That is an outstanding show of why the multi rotors have such a huge following, they can just get you to places! :)

I hope there is a good take up for this, it's time to let the Mega Ardu in you out, show off what you and your APM /ACM can do! A great mix of though put into the video subject plus the how you got to the point of the great flight.

I can't wait to see some of the creative productions ............. :)

Regards

Martin

Cool promotion, and a great idea.

So, are people on the "Dev Team" not eligible?  Not really talking about the leaders but... I'm on it, but pretty minor player.

As an FYI for in Canada: If the video of a copter/plane/heli will be used for revenue directly or indirectly a la, "each entrant grants a worldwide, irrevocable, perpetual license to feature any or all of the submitted videos in any of their publications, their websites and/or in any promotional material connected to this competition," would be illegal.

In Canada, an individual cannot fly an RC heli, multicopter or plane for any purposes that provides financial remuneration or benefit, without a SFOC. If it is flown for 'just' your own benefit, it is considered leisure.Same goes for video of those flights.  Taking video of the aerial platform flying and putting it into a video for worldwide distribution (advertising/remuneration), is going to go against the laws of Transport Canada (for people living in Canada). Let alone what people would have as an issue with the FAA and the hoops they have made.

Just trying to keep a heads up for the community!

Awesome idea though guys. Way to go Dan for representing the North!

Does DARPA get a pass for their "contest" should FAA block their "open source" competition winners from prize money etc.??

Comment by Johann Van Niekerk on February 8, 2012 at 8:34pm

Hi Robert

I dont see a problem in any of the Dev team trying there luck at it as long as they stick to the other guide lines and share the code /mods if any was made.

best of luck
