"Thanks for the input, and that was exactly these things that were wrong. We went through the manual to make sure we didnt miss out on anything else. Basicly we did a check for:

"Ahh, problem solved. It was just a pin that was loose. It was halfway out of the GND on the telemetry connector. Those pins have to be really tightly secured."

We are trying to use the Seedstudio GPRS Shield v1.0 (SIM900), but we are unsure which pins to connect.
The Telemetry port on our APM2.5 has 5 wires, but from the spec of the GPRS shield we only need four TX(D8), RX(D7), 5V, GND.
