Hi there - brand new to the forum. I have been toying with the idea of buying a RTF Arduplane, but have decided to see if it is possible to reuse my Hobbyzone Supercub.
I have the Supercub with the combined HBZ7357 DSM/ESc Unit, with the stock brushed motor. I have a Dx7 radio, and two 3 wire servos.
I was hoping to be able to retain all the cub components.
My questions is
1.) will this work - with the ArduPilot Mega 2.0 Fully Assembled System ?
2.) if it will work - what would the connection between the HBZ7357 and the Ardupilot be ?
3.) how would the Ardupilot get power.
4.) if this simply won't work - what DSM Recevier, ESC and motor should I go for ?
I understand a few questions - but help appreciated !!

Hi Scott,
A super cub was my first APM aircraft, back when APM 1 (firmware was at v2.12) was the only option. It has plenty of room inside for the APM. I'm not sure about the stock reciever as I don't think it had enough channels for mode switching and from memory the ESC. I replaced mine with a 6 channel spektrum park flyer receiver and a turnigy 20A brushed ESC (http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__9090__Turnigy_20A_BRUSHE...)
After that it worked like a charm. The only other trick was to plug the rudder servo into the aileron channel given it has no ailerons. With the latest APM releases, it may even be possible to plug the rudder into the rudder channel and adjust the rudder mix % in mission planner to 100%.
It's a slow airframe with a short flight time so you will eventually tire of it!
