About Me:

I am an electronics engineer playing with drone. I have experience in preparing baby embedded projects like a 8x8x8 Led Cube Using Arduino ,A Self Balancing Robot (Arduino)And Preparing Quadcopter's Tricopter's,Hexacopter's Electronics Using The KK Board Platform (Now with the NAZA/Pixhawk and MPNG boards)....

Please tell us a bit about your UAV interest

I am interested in experimenting with IMU's for stabilization and control of flying platforms.I wish to develop a deep understanding of drones and learn about interfacing MARG+navigation sensors in order to minimize the human input in a computer controlled flight...

AKcopter replied to Patrick Poirier's discussion Companion Computer RPI_ Balloon_Finder in Companion Computer Working Group
"Hi,
I am curious to know if instead of using the baloon popper code we can use a similar setup as described in this post for following designating targets in the live video frame. Something like follow me but instead of using a GPS to track the…"

AKcopter replied to Randy Bachtell's discussion Severe twitching in Loiter in ArduCopter User Group
"Did you find a solution for this ? I am getting these sharp twitches when in loiter, while the copter is trying to hold position."

AKcopter replied to xoltri's discussion Pixhawk causing motor sync issues.
"There is no way that can be caused due to magnetic field interference, it was flying fine isn't it.
A bad mag heading would cause a fly away or a ekf compass error....this definitely looks like a sync issue. Logs please   "

AKcopter replied to Roman's discussion Configuring MinimOSD for Pixhawk in IRIS
"The newer APM firmware version having these new modes have a renewed Mavlink message set, these new messages are not recognized by the minimosd 2.2 extra firmware which almost 2 years old, my suggestion to your would be to use the recent R800…"

AKcopter commented on Thorsten's blog post u-blox M8N - ground planes, antennas and positional accuracy
"Yup! the Zubax Module would be interesting...also what I want to know is if during your tests have you tried modifying the Update rate parameters of the GPS module to see if the problem of missing samples aka "INAVERR"can be solved"

AKcopter commented on Jure M's blog post ESC with FOC and sensor - why not
"But what makes it tricky in standard ESC's is that the feedback voltage(Which is used for estimating rotor position and hence the next commutation step) is constantly being corrupted because of the PWM switching of the FET's in the H-bridge, this…"

AKcopter replied to Roman's discussion Configuring MinimOSD for Pixhawk in IRIS
"Hi this link does not work anymore...how did you get this to work??
I have a RFD900 on my pixhawk connected to telem1 which I cannot shift to telem2 because high powered devices which consume close to or more than 1 amp have to be connected to…"

AKcopter replied to xoltri's discussion Pixhawk causing motor sync issues.
"Hi DG
I did not buy any specific LAN cable, I just had some of it laying around and since every LAN extension cable has at-least 4 such twisted wire pairs which are enclosed inside the outer jacket you need a relatively short LAN cable for this...I…"

AKcopter replied to Doug Walmsley's discussion GPS Issues - Do I need a GPS Ground Plane & EMI Ring?
"I am using 25mmx25mm antennas that come with the CSGshop GPS modules...
also I just got my modules replaced by CSGshop, I am looking forward to testing them to see if the BAD GPS HEALTH messages reduce"

AKcopter replied to Doug Walmsley's discussion GPS Issues - Do I need a GPS Ground Plane & EMI Ring?
"I have had 3 wonderful 30 minute flights on my Hex using 2 M8N's..The INAVerr does go to 255 around the 2 min mark , but as ample posts here as well as on rcgroups have suggested this used to occur with the old Neo6m as well as the original 3DR…"

AKcopter replied to Doug Walmsley's discussion GPS Issues - Do I need a GPS Ground Plane & EMI Ring?
"Go out in the open and keep the GPS running for some time and get a reliable fix, once you get this fix the next time you turn on the GPS the time to fix will be lesser and the readings more reliable, I experienced this drift also but it should…"

AKcopter replied to DG's discussion INAVerr- Is it the GPS or FC or neither?
"Well, this might explain why the error climbs linearly but if this a not a problem then why log it as an error and if this error has such predictable characteristics then it should be reasonably easy for the devs to mitigate this by appropriate…"

AKcopter replied to Doug Walmsley's discussion GPS Issues - Do I need a GPS Ground Plane & EMI Ring?
"OK so building a custom ground-plane is definitely out... coz' I don't have the equipment or the know-how to pull this off without making things worse...for now it would be best to focus on the INAVerr and get some dev help on the issue of missing…"

AKcopter replied to Doug Walmsley's discussion GPS Issues - Do I need a GPS Ground Plane & EMI Ring?
"I have a question though, does having a smaller ground plane necessarily mean better impedance matching as suggested by your tests above ?"
Mar 17, 2015
AKcopter replied to Doug Walmsley's discussion GPS Issues - Do I need a GPS Ground Plane & EMI Ring?
"So this basically means we are stuck with the CSGshop's design or whatever other vendor's design of the M8N and if we try to add a ground plane we may increase the directivity but the impedance matching and hence the SWR will go to hell !!"
