HeliStorm commented on Isabella Domi's blog post Search and Rescue Smart Drone Project
"Nikola...good point! If machine learning is being used, give it another layer of information to parse data, and the system will be more effective. This is some very interesting research. I sent you an email, from emergentechrdi@gmail.com

"Interesting. I have ideas, but never worked with 3D printing or design for 3D printing. Have done some CAD work in the past. May have to do some learning."

HeliStorm commented on Chris's blog post Queen B Robotics introduces the Exo360! 5 integrated 4K cameras for the ultimate VR experience
"I have thought, what if you have the, "raw data," as in video an IMU data saved for export and later post-processing. It could be stabilized and either distributed as 360 video, or edited down to normal, "2d," video with the the person directing the…"

HeliStorm commented on Chris Anderson's blog post Bees bounce into things rather than navigate around them. How robobees could do the same
"I have been giving this some more thought, and I think there is a real potential for systems able to bounce around obstacles. One of my interests is search and rescue applications, but in particular the usage of smaller systems in wooded areas,…"

"Nature has engineered some very unique unmanned aerial systems. Self-guiding, self-fueling, self-manufacturing nano aircraft. It shows what is possible when you have billions of years to trial and error."

"Does anyone have the original, and can attest to build quality? It looks kind of cheap plastic toy, to me, but the rest of the specs seem pretty good. I may have to give it a try. Maybe put the guts on something else."

HeliStorm replied to Monroe Lee King Jr's discussion Cameras for Micro Drones in Micro Drone
"I had considered piezoelectric before. Small, low energy, fast. What about something like DLP chips. Use the nano mirrors in reverse, rather than projecting images, focusing them on a sensor?"
